The Director R2R P&O Accounting is a key leadership position within the Financial Reporting and Accounting Operations Record to Report (R2R) team responsible for ensuring all U.S. employee benefit plans and transactions are appropriately recorded from an accounting perspective and that the link to the financial statements is complete and accurate. This role partners closely with the U.S. reporting leads and the business.
\* Review and assess changes to employee benefit plans for potential financial statement impacts
\* Drive complex accounting issues and topics related to the P&O / Employee Benefits area and partner with the US FRA Operations Technical Accounting team to document conclusions
\* Review and approve the reasonableness of accrual estimates provided by P&O including but not limited to defined contribution retirement program, annual incentive plan, pensions, other post-retirement obligations, post-retiree medical, and IBNR medical reserve
\* Lead U.S. restructuring accrual process and partner closely with P&O and the finance community
\* Lead share-based compensation accrual process and act as liaison with P&O for significant reorganizations and M&A
\* Assist in ad-hoc projects for various global and U.S. employee benefit or accounting initiatives
\* Participate in HR, Payroll and EB related systems implementations including confirming appropriate configuration and UAT to ensure accuracy of financial reporting
\* Proactively communicate variances to Senior Management/business by detailing out key drivers leading to deviations
\* Participate in balance sheet discussions ensuring all Benefits related (i.e. pension, defined contribution, etc.) balances are appropriately recorded
\* Approve journal entries and significant account reconciliations
\* Supervise and coach direct reports and create positive working environment, enhancing cross-training and employee development

\* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and/or Finance preferred
\* CPA is preferred
\* Advanced Degree in Accounting and/or Finance is a plus
\* Minimum of 8+ years' experience for a major company or division of a large corporation
\* Big 4 audit background is desired
\* Demonstrated ability to apply IFRS accounting practices within employee benefits strongly preferred
\* Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
The ideal location for this role is East Hanover, NJ but remote work may be possible (there may be some exceptions based on legal entity registration). Please note that this role may not provide relocation as a result. If associate is remote, all home office expenses and any travel/lodging to specific East Hanover site for periodic live meetings will be at the employee's expense. The expectation of working hours and travel (domestic and/or international) will be defined by the hiring manager
