As a Sustainability Specialistat Gensler, you willjoina highlycreative, collaborative team dedicated to innovative problem solving and design excellence.You will work withthe Northeast Sustainability Consulting team in providinga full spectrum ofsustainabilityadvisory and supportto clients and project teams,from marketing through post-occupancy.
What You Will Do
You will manage the certification processand provide design guidance on projects pursuing LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard,Fitweland/orNet Zero Building Certification.Additionally,you maylead orparticipate inconsultingengagementsthatprovidesustainability strategiesfor a wide range of world classclients andprojects ranging from commercial interiors to ground up buildingsand real estate portfolios.
Work with clientsand design teamsto establish sustainable design and project certification goals, employingfeasibility analysisor other methods to facilitate goal setting
Design and facilitatework sessions with clients anddesign teams to build consensus on sustainable designsolutions
Coordinate with project design teamsto providesustainabledesign guidance and technical support,andcertificationprocessmanagement,participating inclient meetings when necessary
Coordinate integration of Revit, IES, energy modeling, daylighting and other technical analysis in projects where needed
Coordinate the work of multiple consultants and supervise the work of project team members
Establish and manage project fees, staffing, and client invoicing
Ensure quality control and consistency across all projects
Identify and maintain awareness of current and emerging technologies, tools,and methods as they impact the delivery of green building design
Track Federal, State,and local regulations and incentives and provide guidance to clients
Ensure sustainable design projects status are integrated into GenslerDigitalLibrary Ensure that lessons learned are shared across projects

Strong leadership, communication, and relationship management skills

Bachelor orMasterdegree in sustainable building, architecture, engineering, interiors or related field, or equivalent work experience
LEED Accreditationrequired, additional accreditations a plus
5+years ofpost-graduateexperience in a similar role
Strong leadership, communication, and relationship management skills
Strongknowledge of building systems, project management,and consultant coordination (current expertise or interest/aptitude to build expertise quickly)
Strong knowledge of LEED andcertificationproject management, gained through directly relevant project experience and education
Ability to perform technical analysis is a plus (e.g.energy and daylighting simulation, specification writing, materials selection, cost and life cycle studies, etc.)
Strong writing, speaking, organizational skills, and technical presentation ability
Able to mentor, teach and train effectively
Innovator, ability to create and successfully implement new programs
Ability to synthesize new information quickly
A sense of humor and a knack for innovation and problem solving, and a collaborative, solutions-oriented working style
Proficient user of LEED Online, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and InDesign
Familiaritywith Salesforce, andotherproject management toolssuch as SmartsheetorTeams Planner, or willingness to learn
