Head Business Development Cell & Gene

The Head Business development Cell &Gene establishes a Business development team located in the US to address the cell & gene market opportunities globally (not limited to the US). He/she identifies new customers, innovative business opportunities and leads the corresponding activities in the cell & gene market - ranging from, but not limited to pDNA, viral vectors, cell therapy services (incl. supply chain services and infrastructure in healthcare setups, e.g. hospitals) and new technologies like CRISPR/Cas and many more.
\*Support creation & implementation of the Global Biotech Cooperations marketing strategy.
\*Support the creation of the advertisement strategy and materials (brochures, fair presence, internet presence, road shows) and attends in conferences, meetings and industry events
\*Generate and proactively communicates regular updates on BD opportunities together with the Head Business development biologics to the management (CMO platform leadership team).
\*Elaborates potential business opportunities with technical experts and functions in alignment with available plant capabilities or potential plant investments.
\*Point of contact for potential clients to establish rapport, arranges meetings and administers customer base.
\*Establish robust processes and organizational setups together with the Head Global BTC to implement external customers in different geographies/sites within NTO CMO platform
\*Develop, refine and lead the delivery of the Go-To-Market and sales strategy for Cell & Gene as well as the general US CMO market. Ensure continues improvement
\*Establishes initial legal documents such as CDA\`s, LOIs etc, quotes and proposals for clients, focuses on building and guiding relationships both internally (e.g. QA, production etc.) and externally (clients) to meet business needs and requirements.
\*Close deals & get contracts signed
\*Research and promote development of new systems and services in order to improve client experience, operational efficiency, cost reduction and risk reduction

Minimum requirements
University degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry or equivalent (Ph.D. preferred) and MBA or equivalent
Fluent business English, German of advantage
\*More than 8 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, preferred in biologics industry or BD&L functions
\*More than 5 years of experience in B2B or contract manufacturing (CDMO, CRO...) or similar
\*Track record of successfully identifying new commercial/sales opportunities and capitalizing on these
\*Sound knowledge of basic business procedures, transactions, contract negotiations, customer relations and contract manufacturing business models
\*Evidence of success in building, leading and managing a team
\*Evidence of successfully managing multi-country/-organization financial plans
\*Experienced in Global Project Management
\*Self-motivated
\*Ability to work independently
\*Background in Technical Operations or Contract Manufacturing a plus
