Summary of Duties/Essential Functions:
Operates, inspects, and maintain electrical and mechanical equipment in assigned facilities to achieve most efficient results.
Assures that equipment is being maintained in a safe manner. Minimizes down time through proactive performance and scheduled maintenance.
Complies with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and Company directives related to building operations and work safety.
Applies electrical code to troubleshoot and resolve basic electrical wiring / circuitry problems, install and repair electrical equipment and wiring, roughing in feeders, branch circuit cables and circuits, splice electric or communication cables lines, and trimming out (finishing) electrical devices.
Uses electrical test equipment, meters, and other measuring devices to test electrical equipment.
Performs assigned repairs, emergency, and preventive maintenance. Completes maintenance and repair records as required. Responds quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed
Record readings and make adjustments where necessary to ensure proper operation of equipment.
Requires the ability to analyze the operation of various systems, determine the cause of any problems/malfunctions and take corrective action as required.
Run conduit; pull wiring to machinery, motors, operating parts, etc.
Comply with departmental policy for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
Maintains a clean and safe workplace.
Assist other trades with the installation and repairs of HVAC, plumbing and all other duties and tasks assigned.
Complete and adhere to all required safety training
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
Able to regularly lift items up to 50lbs
Physically able to operate electric hand tools, carry tools, lift and carry heavy loads, operate required equipment, and operate a motor vehicle.
Able to work in close places such as closets, crawl spaces, attics, vaults, etc.
Able to work on a ladder up to 28'
Able to work on roofs of buildings - able to safely perform overhead work while standing on a ladder.
GMP working environment experience required
Electrical License required
Black seal boiler license preferred
Strong computer skills, outlook, word, excel, CMMS
High School diploma, state equivalent, or GED equivalent.
2+ years of related trade schooling or equivalent, preferred.
Strong communication and organization skills
Team player-works well with others
