Marketing & Communication Specialist

Job Summary/purpose of the position:

In the internal communications associate role, you will help create and execute innovative, internal marketing campaigns that help drive engagement of our leadership and team members around impactful initiatives.

The focus of the internal communication program will be to increase employee engagement and build internal alignment and awareness across all business units, including brand heritage, business strategy, organizational changes, continuous improvement initiatives, product developments and significant program wins.

The ideal candidate will be a skilled storyteller with a knack for interpersonal skills and a passion for creating and sharing content. The role will build a strong culture of collaboration to create experiences that engage, connect, and inspire the Marotta Controls team.

Essential job functions and responsibilities

Communications Responsibilities:
Develop and execute a strategic internal communications plan to ensure that all stakeholders are informed and inspired by priorities and achievements. You will align internal and executive messaging with the company's vision, mission, and product positioning.
Plan, write and edit content for a variety of internal communications including company newsletters, email bulletins and staff intranet. You may also be required to design the layout of content.
Develop and maintain an internal communications calendar and execute projects on-schedule.
Generate ideas and identify opportunities for creative storytelling to drive employee engagement.
Ensure internal communications messages are consistent across all mediums for each business unit of the organization as well as with external communications messaging.
Align content with business strategies and translate information into simple language when developing materials including communications plans, executive messaging, all hands meetings and presentations.
Create content and post content on social media channels to promote company achievements and position the brand as a leader in our industry.
Work in close partnership with Marketing, Human Resources, Leadership, and other company functions to execute communication initiatives from concept to delivery.
Solid organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage expectations across multiple, complex projects / priorities.
Flexibility and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, while possessing a high level of comfort with ambiguity.

Marketing Operations:
Assist Marketing Manager on marketing strategy development and administrative tasks as needed
Develop and maintain sales enablement materials including company overview presentations, datasheets, web pages, white papers and infographics
Support the Marketing Manager in trade show execution including preparing exhibit materials, managing event logistics and continually improve Marotta's exhibit presence
Assist customer service team with internal support system and identify areas for improvement
Design and develop collateral materials for human resources programs including recruiting events, job fairs, facility open houses, college bulletin board listings
Write copy and publish on Marotta social media accounts highlighting employee engagement activities and significant internal achievements
Support Business Unit leads with content/presentations for monthly All Hands meetings
Continuously monitor website for content improvements and support Marketing Manager in identifying opportunities from users' interactions
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a keen attention to detail and high standard of quality will be essential.

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills Required

Education, Certifications, and Years of Experience:
Bachelor (business management, marking)
3 to 5 years of professional experience

Minimum Required Qualifications
Excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to step into different tones to align with audiences
Have a visual sense to accommodate content
Solid communicator across multiple stakeholders
Interpersonal and customer service skills.


SharePoint proficiency is required.
Must be a US Citizen.

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to conditions typical of a manufacturing/machine shop environment, including, but not limited to fluids, fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, noise and vibration
This job interacts both in a professional office environment and a manufacturing/machine shop environment. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers/scanners/copier machine, as well as environments inclusive of the appropriate eye, hearing and foot protection (as required).
Temperature of work environment may be affected by outside/external temperatures, machining processes, etc.
Some travel may be required for this position (5-10%)
