ABOUT THE ROLE
You will be in an exciting learning environment while working closely with procurement category leads to develop procurement strategies derived from business priorities. You will be an important connector between our internal business needs and external networks. You will lead procurement activities in identifying, evaluating, negotiating and contracting to source external functional expertise for Bayer. You will oversee the contractual lifecycle in your area of empowerment to make sure promised performance are delivered and take action when needed.
You are part of a truly global team, while your primary focus is in US, you will have high exposure to senior leadership around the world. Your success in this role is important to Bayer as are the experiences you will gather in this role. You will receive full support to fulfill your role and also to further grow.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role you will:
Work with outstanding people;
Contribute to the development and implementation of the global procurement category strategies in the Professional and Legal Services area;
Invest in understanding the business needs & engage with regional and local stakeholders to meet their priorities and requirements and therefore, builds effective trustful relationships;
Manage supplier agreements and apply fit-for-purpose supplier management to the supplier base within the responsibility and create relationships with assigned strategic partners;
Collaborate with various category leads on preparing and executing sourcing events to create a competitive advantage as well as prepare and conduct supplier negotiations, contracts and build a common understanding of the supplier's role, expectations, and performance monitoring;
Grow yourself over time as a procurement professional, also getting exposure to various legal and professional services categories and other strategic initiatives.

Bachelor's degree or Master's degree or related field equivalent degree in science, engineering, or business management with at least three years of professional experience in Procurement or related business function;
Understand the broadest definition of value to include not only cost focus but also supply security, risk mitigation, innovation as well as a cash flow improvement;
Solid understanding and experience in Procurement, procurement processes, and methodologies (e.g., strategic sourcing, supplier management);
People's agility to build strong collaboration through influencing and communication competencies;
Enjoy working in a global and virtual environment;
High proficiency level in English.
