POSITION SUMMARY:

The Media & Event Coordinator, reporting to the MCC Project Director is responsible for the creation and submission of all social media for the Coalition and coordinating the participation in community events.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Organizes volunteers for community events where the Coalition does (or hopes to) have a presence
Designs, creates content for and sends weekly Coalition newsletter
Book room rentals for all Board and Membership meetings (if necessary)
Prepares all materials (attendance sheet, copies of agendas, any other handouts) for all Board and Membership meetings
Manages all MCC social media accounts and regularly posts relevant content, at minimum once weekly
Updates Coalition website on weekly basis
Attends MACC, MAASA and any other relevant community meetings and trainings

QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience and proficiency in writing, social media, along with a high level of computer literacy.
Proficiency in technology applications, including all Microsoft Office programs, Constant Contact, and other related programs.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
Experience working with youth and teens in the substance abuse prevention and or related mental health field preferred.
Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Ability to stand or sit while maintaining alertness for several hours at a time.
Position requires bending, leaning, and walking.
Ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate.
Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency may have exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids.
Ability to view/enter data for long periods of time.
Ability to work non-traditional work schedule, including evenings and weekends when required.
