Control Room Surveillance - AVP
Whippany, NJ
As a Barclays Control Room Surveillance - AVP, you will focus on the Control Room Surveillance program for Americas (AMER) Markets in accordance with relevant regulatory and legal requirements, firm policies and industry best practices. You will have the opportunity to work closely with the respective teams in AMER, EME and APAC that cover Control Room Surveillance activities.

What will you be doing?
\* Conducting daily analysis of automated surveillance alerts for AMER markets
\* Identifying and escalating potential breaches of regulatory rules
\* Enhancing current exception reports and developing new surveillance tools, reports and procedures
\* Liaising regularly with other Compliance and Risk areas, including the other Global Surveillance functions, Business Oversight Compliance and other areas as required
\* Ensuring significant surveillance issues are identified, fully investigated and promptly escalated where necessary
What we're looking for:
\* Good communication skills, ability to interact and work with key stakeholders and ability to quickly understand and interchange with a variety of other product and technical areas
\* Excellent knowledge of AMER Markets and respective regulations, and excellent surveillance or Compliance experience in a financial services environment or Regulator
\* Ability to multi-task and manage projects while completing daily tasks and responsibilities
\* Familiarity with diverse product types
Skills that will help you in the role:
\* Knowledge of Watch List / Restricted List Surveillance, and prior Control Room or Control Room Surveillance experience
\* "Tech savvy" interested by the opportunities technology provides for quality, efficiency or accuracy
\* Knowledge of risk management and control functions, as well as understanding banking and financial services - prior industry experience would be an advantage
\* Working knowledge of Barclays - goals, financials, staff numbers and structure
