DevOps Engineer AVP
Whippany, NJ
As a Barclays DevOps Engineer, you will be joining the team responsible for delivery, as well as maintaining stability and supportability, of the Front Office risk platform that supports the Equity Derivatives business. The role involves demonstrating and championing DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) best practices, developing automation and observability solutions, while collaborating with other technology teams across the globe as well Front Office users and First-Line support teams.

What will you be doing?
\* Analyzing, designing, development, deploying, and hand-over to the end users of the solutions developed within the team
\* Ensuring all solutions meet Control and Security requirements as well as help improve the stability of our platform, while allowing higher volume of changes and activity
\* Increasing the productivity of our wider engineering team
\* Adopting and promoting best practices within the larger team and organization
\* Achieving, and championing, our Excellence in Execution objectives
What we're looking for:
\* Prior experience working in DevOps
\* Proficiency in at least one programming language
\* Solid understanding of Agile methodology, practices and tooling
\* Hands-on experience with large and complex distributed systems
Skills that will help you in the role:
\* Proficiency in Java 11 or above with knowledge of multithreading is a plus
\* Proven ability to pick up and learn new technologies
\* Experience with SRE practices, including implementing automation and Observability solutions
\* Some data analysis knowledge is preferred
