Private Cloud SDN Engineer

As a Barclays Private Cloud SDN Engineer, you will build and maintain Barclays on premise Private Cloud based on VMware Cloud Foundation. You will work within the Barclays Virtual Platform Team that is accountable for managing projects and changes in addition to providing a Level 3 support in the VMware Cloud technology for use in Barclays on premise Private Cloud.

What will you be doing?

\* Working via Agile methodology, to deliver Cloud related projects to business and other stakeholders Primary focus will be in VMware NSX field

\* Maintaining the Cloud infrastructure, by completing all vulnerability patching, system upgrades and releases

\* Assisting Service Operations Cloud Team and client escalations when needed and providing incident stack coverage on rotational basis

\* Providing a build function as required, when new capacity needs to be allocated

What we're looking for:

\* Experienced in software defined networking products, with primary focus on VMware

\* Knowledge of networking protocols: switching technologies, routing fundamentals, firewalls, IP subnets, firewalling, load balancing, zones & Management Networks

\* Good knowledge of network technologies, including VMware NSX-V & NSX-T

\* Knowledge on VMW are realize Automation

Skills that will help you in the role:

\* Certification of VMware 6.5 Data Center Virtualization (VCP6.5-DCV) or equivalent preferred

\* Certification of VMware- Network Virtualization (VCP6-NV) a big plus
