AVP, Database Administrator, GTIS - Database & Dataware

What will you be doing?
\* On behalf of a global financial services organization, administer, test, and implement computer databases, applying knowledge of database management systems and coordinate enhancements and changes to database systems to implement security measures and safeguard database information.
\* Utilize MS SQL Server and T-SQL Scripting to perform SQL database administration including installation, configuration, performance monitoring, and upgrades.
\* Support applications across organization estate within internal domains to manage MS SQL environment, perform maintenance, investigate performance issues, apply solutions, and perform capacity planning based upon database growth analysis.
\* Assess business requirements and liaise with application developers to translate requirements into optimal and efficient database code.
\* Provide support for MS SQL clustered environments with multi-node cluster related activities including troubleshooting, failover, failback, and load balancing.
\* Provide technical support for MS SQL Server 2016/2017 Always ON High Availability Solution.
\* Write scope documents and perform functionality and stress testing of engineering tools utilizing principles of database engineering.
\* Configure and manage high availability solutions including clustering (Active-Active and Active-Passive).
\* Utilize MS SQL Server Integration Service (SSIS) packages to migrate and transform data.
\* Perform Operational Acceptance Testing (OAT) for utilities developed by database engineering teams.
\* Provide MS SQL Server Replication support.
\* Configure database mirroring for Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.
\* Provide run the bank support for database inventory database which is a collection of tools based around a SQL server data warehouse.
What we're looking for:
Minimum of Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in any Science, Technology, Engineering, and/or Mathematics (STEM) field of study and at least five (5) years of post-baccalaureate progressive experience as a Database Administrator, or related Information Technology occupation.
Must have at least five (5) years of experience with each of the following required skills: utilizing MS SQL to perform administration and TSQL scripting; installing, configuring, upgrading, and setting up disaster recovery solutions using Log Shipping, Database Mirroring, and AlwaysOn; setting up and managing high availability solutions utilizing Active Active and Active Passive topology; SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Replication topologies, Service Broker, Log Shipping, Database Snapshots, Database Mirroring, and AlwaysOn to create management reports with trend analysis; providing technical resolution for high severity production incidents and creating solutions to minimize production outages for SQL and databases; leveraging SQL Server Dynamic Management Views, Query Plan, Perfmon Stats, SQL Server Profiler, and Traces to perform troubleshooting; reviewing and improving SQL Server database maintenance process including rebuilding, reorganizing, updating stats, and performing consistency checks; and developing SQL Server utility/product to automate database operation processes to increase efficiency.
