Data Engineer
Whippany, NJ
As a Barclays Data Engineer, you will be part of the new forces that contribute to driving the Data Analytics, Automation and Data Engineering innovations, improving Data Platform and Infrastructure elements of Banking Technology's data insight application portfolio. Serving Banking Analysts and Data Scientists' data needs, you will identify opportunities to improve banking's ability to scale analytical data infrastructure and operational efficiency.

What will you be doing?
\* Applying sophisticated SQL query to retrieve needed data from vast pool of market data sets to support new front office business application's development
\* Supporting identity resolution initiatives across the Data Platform
\* Architecting modern data platform by designing data pipelines for the continued expansion of the data platform mission; deployed code is performant, well-styled and documented
\* Applying technical experience of data engineering concepts including ETL, data cleansing and transformation, partitioning
\* Working with Business Analysts to support the maintenance and traceability of requirements through all phases of the project lifecycle
\* Participating in education and knowledge transfer sessions with project teams and wider Barclays data community
What we're looking for?
\* Computer Science, MIS or Business Analytics majors, Master Degree preferred
\* Extensive experience in SQL centric data engineering role
\* Hands-on with Tableau or SAP Business Object
\* Hands-on programming skills Pytho
Skills that will help you in the role:
\* Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure and containers such as OpenShift, Docker+Kubernetes is ideal but not essential
\* Experience creating API endpoints to serve data to other applications
\* Knowledge or experience of working with graph database such as Neo4J
