In this role, you will engage across all activities of our US Indirect Tax team, including audit and controversy; outsourced indirect tax compliance operations; and accounting tasks and tax expense forecasting.
Applying technology solutions, including OneSource, SAP, Power BI, and tax research tools, you will help drive compliance with tax laws and operational improvements across all aspects of the US Indirect Tax function!
You will collaborate within and across Zoetis Tax, Finance and Technology functions and engage with owners across all aspects of the Zoetis business. You will collaborate with third-party advisors and assist with responding to Tax Authority inquires and audits.
Specific responsibilities include:
Assist and oversee the US Indirect Tax process (tax filing calendars, preparation of workpapers, and return payments)
Assist with audit defense by organizing audit work papers and fulfilling IDR's from external auditors
Reconciliations of Indirect Tax accounts and preparation of Indirect Tax journal entries where required
Documenting, responding to tax notices, and corresponding with state authorities to ensure good standings
Maintain product taxability and coding
Ability to work and communicate with various departments to assist in determination of sales and use tax taxability of transactions including assistance to domestic business units regarding tax issues
Research new sales and use tax laws and regulations
Assist with credits & incentives and ensure compliance to monetize optimal incentive results
Ensure all tax compliance documentation is properly kept in departmental shared drive and SharePoint site
Assist Senior Manager with special projects
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Requirements:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and as a team member with excellent interpersonal skills
Effective time management skills and multi-tasking abilities
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, etc.)
Sales and Use Tax compliance experience.
Experience with large automated systems (i.e., billing, general ledger, and accounts payable), such as SAP and ARIBA.
Automated tax systems experience including Vertex and/or OneSource
Tax research and audit experience.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or closely related field required.
Three or more years of tax-related experience in public accounting or industry.
