Job Description

 

Work Schedule:
• Number of hours per week: 40
• Daily Work Schedule: Mon to Fri 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (with 1 hour lunch)

Job Duties:

  1. Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  2. Oversee installation of mechanical and electrical systems as well as structural members. Activities include, but are not limited to: HVAC, plumbing, wall & roof openings, masonry construction, PEMB construction, concrete slab installation and lighting.
  3. Confer with vendors, subcontractors, engineers and clients throughout project implementation.
  4. Collect field data for principal engineers to assist in the design process.
  5. Analyze the feasibility of issued designs and communicate potential challenges based on field assessment.
  6. Document the progress of the project on a daily basis.
  7. Examine the capacity of existing systems and coordinate with site maintenance to identify tie-in points for upcoming installations.
  8. Reviewing and implementing structural and mechanical engineering drawings
  9. Communicate with structural and mechanical inspectors with regards to their assessments and implement appropriate courses of action.
  10. Develop and modify project schedule throughout the implementation phase based on the progress.
  11. Monitor the performance of the newly installed systems to ensure they operate successfully.

Travel Requirements:

The only travel required is when the Applicant relocates to unanticipated client locations anywhere in the U.S. for long-term assignments.

Education: U.S. Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Undergraduate coursework to include, coursework in: Intro to Circuits and Electronics with Lab (1 Credit); Composite Materials Technology (1 Credit); Thermal/Fluid Systems Design (1 Credit); and Fluid Mechanics 2 (1 credit).

Experience: Three months of experience as a Project Engineer. Experience to include, three months of experience in:

•Communicate with structural and mechanical inspectors with regards to their assessments and implement appropriate courses of action.
•Reviewing and implementing structural engineering drawings
