Manager, Corporate Relations
Location: Morristown, NJ (Hybrid option available)
Reports to: Vice President, State Government Relations
Experience Required: 5+ Years
Travel Percentage: As needed
Education Required: Bachelors Degree.

Responsibilities
As a Manager, Corporate Relations, you will guide Covanta's corporate relations efforts to gain understanding and support for sustainable waste management. You'll coordinate Covanta's efforts with our Asset and Facility Mangers to engage our communities to build trust and deep relationships with the people we serve. You will lead Covanta's efforts with third party groups like the US Conference of Mayors and National Association of Counties. The Manager, Corporate Relations will assist in the establishment of 3rd parties focused on sustainable waste management. This role will report to Covanta's Vice President of State Government Relations.
Oversee and lead Covanta's participation in a wide variety corporate outreach program
Assist in developing and guiding the execution of site-specific corporate relations plans across Covanta's fleet of facilities
Develop presentations, messaging materials and other written collateral for presentation to community groups and local public officials
Participate and build relationships through events, meetings, and conferences with local and community leaders
Organize and conduct tours for community groups and local government officials
Establish and maintain relationships with key advocacy organizations and industry groups at the local level
Collaborate cross-functionally with Covanta's asset and facility managers, communications, environmental permitting specialists to prioritize our corporate relations efforts
Extensive travel is required to Covanta facilities and conferences across the country, and occasionally to Covanta's headquarters in Morristown, NJ
Qualifications/ Requirements
BA/BS degree required
5+ years of grassroots, campaign, or community affairs experience; clean energy or waste sector knowledge preferred
Extensive experience with relationship building with a variety of people and groups
Experience of building and executing community relations plans across a wide variety of communities
Experience engaging with local elected officials
Self-motivated with a collaborative work style
Experience working in a fast-paced environment, thinking, and moving quickly, with a proven ability to prioritize and juggle many different projects at once
