CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Buildings - MEP group in Albany, NY; Atlanta, GA; Richmond, VA; Parsippany, NJ or Rochester, NY.

CHA creates state-of-the-art mechanical systems that prioritize energy efficiency without sacrificing strength or ramping up costs. We offer complete HVAC, Plumbing, and fire protection engineering and design/construction services for a variety of public, private, institutional and industrial clients.


The Mechanical Engineer, a key role at CHA, leads the technical execution of projects within his/her discipline and provides expert consultation in one or more areas of the respective field of mechanical engineering including HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection. At CHA, our Mechanical Engineer plans, schedules, conducts and coordinates detailed phases of a project independently with other engineering disciplines and project management staff. This key role provides guidance, mentorship, and technical review of work completed by junior level staff. The Mechanical Engineer provides technical development of proposals, construction documents, and external presentations (i.e., clients, public, regulatory agency, etc.)

The Mechanical Engineer resolves highly complex technical issues, and continuously monitors the progress and performance on a project to ensure efficient production and uncover potential problems. The Mechanical Engineer recognizes technical discrepancies in analytical results and makes appropriate corrections following standard procedures and recommends alterations to development and design to improve quality of design.


Bachelor's degree in Engineering required
Professional Engineer License (PE) required
Minimum of 10 years progressive engineering experience is required
Expert knowledge of the respective engineering discipline(s) with a proven ability to practically apply best practices
Advanced proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, Trane Trace, etc.)
Understands QA/QC procedures and understands basic business practices and laws related to engineering
Ability to demonstrate leadership skills and effectively work in a collaborative environment; proven ability to lead a team
Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiences
Proficiency with MS Office software required
